Project Window: Making Dreams Come True

Posted at February 16, 2014 | By : | Categories : News | 0 Comment

Angela Hines of Far Rockaway has worked to make the dreams of young girls come true. As the founder and director of the non-profit organization, Project Window, Angela and her team help young girls who fell victim to the destruction of Hurricane Sandy find prom dresses for their special night. Volunteers of Project Window have dedicated their efforts to helping families who are struggling to rebuild after being displaced by the storm.

When Kleinfeld heard of Angela’s efforts, owners Ronnie Rothstein and Mara Urshel were happy to lend a hand, donating gowns from top Kleinfeld exclusive designers Isaac Mizrahi, Alita Graham and Dennis Basso. Kleinfeld also gave Angela a special surprise of her own! See the excitement in this video from NY1:

After collecting donations, on May 10th, Angela made the dreams of more than 100 girls come true at the Queens of Far Rockaway event at the Ocean Bay Community Center. The event offered prom dresses and accessories to the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Hines says, “Parents are spending a lot of time working on rebuilding, but what about the kids? We want to make sure all girls feel special on prom night”. And indeed they did, hundreds of girls left the event smiling from ear to ear.
